Day 01: Arrival Lisbon
Arrival at Lisbon airport, go to the rental car station and pick up your rental car. Portugal's capital has much to offer. Lisbon's cityscape is characterized by numerous historic buildings. The old town with its tile facades and medieval, narrow streets is charming and will inspire you. Take a stroll through the oldest district of the city - Alfama. Visit the castle of Saint George, which is located on the highest of the eastern part of the town and offers a beautiful view of the city. The discovery of the Marques de Pombal monument, along the Avenida da Liberdade, is the splendid avenue of Lisbon, the heart of the urban life of Lisbon, the Rossio square and the "Baixa", the suburb. Day 02: Lisbon
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to the Belém district, where you will visit the world famous Hieronymus monastery. Continue to the Maritime Monument. On the square in front of the monument is a mosaic in the shape of a windrose, a gift from the Republic of South Africa dating back to 1960. Finally, try one the delicious dessert "Pasteis de Belem “in one of the coffee houses. For dinner, go to the "Adega Machado" restaurant, where you can enjoy the rest of the evening with the sound of the fado. Fado is Portugal's most important, traditional music style. Day 03: Cascais
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will drive to Cascais with your rental car. Cascais has managed to preserve its original charm of the old fishing village, on the other hand, it also radiates a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Particularly interesting is the small port in the Bay of Cascais. There you can still see small fishing boats. There are also cafés and restaurants in the port, which invite you to take a break. The Boca do Inferno is a gorge in the coastal cliffs west of Cascais. Day 04: Sintra
After breakfast, drive to Sintra where the PalácioNacional da Pena will be seen from afar. It is located on a top of the Serra de Sintra. Visit the fairytale castle. Day 05: Fátima, Batalha, Alcobaça, Nazaré
Breakfast at hotel. Today you are on your way to explore Fátima one of the most important place of pilgrimage and one of the most important of the Roman Catholic Church. Continue to Batalha. The name comes from the Portuguese word for "battle". In Batalha you should look at the Gothic monastery from the 14th century. After a 20 minute drive you will find the impressive Monastery of Alcobaça. It was declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1989. In the small town of Nazaré you finally reach the Atlantic Ocean. The mighty waves of the Atlantic, which are prevalent here, give extreme insights into the Guinness Book of Record. Day 06: Porto
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will be able to spend the whole day exploring Porto. Its numerous, old churches have given the city its nickname "Baroque Town". The old town has been a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 1996. Visit the most important sights of the city and take a mini-cruise (50 minutes) on the Douro in old wine ships, the "barcosrabelos". Afterwards take a port wine tasting in a traditional port wine cellar from Vila Nova de Gaia. Popular photographs are among others. also the large entrance hall of the S. Day 07: Guimarães, Braga
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Guimarães, the cradle of the nation. Visit the mighty Castelo de São Mamede Castle, which bears witness to the uncertain times of the birth of Portugal, and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança. Day 08: Coimbra, Óbidos
After breakfast drive to Coimbra, one of the oldest university cities in Europe. Do not miss to visit the oldest and probably the most beautiful library in Europe, BibliotecaJoanina, in the university in the highest part of the city, classified by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage. Have lunch in the restaurant '' O Trovador '' near Catedral da Sé. On the other side of the Mondego River is Portugal dos Pequenitos, a theme park where miniature replicas of various monuments and traditional houses of Portugal are found. Continue to visit Óbidos. From the stories of love and the medieval atmosphere, it is an inspiring suggestion for a romantic getaway or simply quiet stay. Day 09: Evora
Breakfast at hotel. Drive with your rental car southwards towards Évora in the province of Alentejo. The landscape is changing. It is flat and the vegetation is characterized by cereal fields, cork oaks and dry bushes under a always blue sky. The city has a lot of ancient and medieval architecture to offer. A stroll through the alleyways of the old town will take you back to the time of the Roman occupation. The Diana Temple, the castle and the aqueduct dating back to this period are also located. A special experience is a visit to the Capela dos Ossos (bone chapel). On the walls of the chapel, human bones, bones and skulls are piled up from the cemeteries of the many surrounding cathedrals. When you are there, you will quickly see why you decided to protect this landscape in 1988 - it is simply beautiful! They always head south, and soon reach the Praia de Odeceixe and Praia do Amado. Explore the area by foot. You can walk for miles along the beautiful and wide sandy beach and let the soul dangle with the view of the water. Day 11: Sagres
Breakfast at hotel. Now go to the coast. A truly impressive picture is presented when you approach Cabo de São Vicente. The lighthouse of the European mainland is on a 60-meter-high rock of the Cape.
