Our friendly Local Representative will be waiting for you at your entry point. We welcome you to Cochin – the best base to explore “God’s own country”. Check into your hotel. We then take you on a boat ride to visit the historical sights of Cochin. Visit the Dutch Palace at Mattancherry. This palace was actually built by the Portuguese. Marvel at the exquisite mural paintings on the palace walls.

We then proceed to Fort Cochin to visit St. Francis Church – the first church in India built by the Europeans. Get back to mainland Cochin by evening. Enjoy overnight stay at your hotel.

Kathakali performance for two hours during the late evening is on the plan.

After breakfast, we proceed to Thekkady, to visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Arrive at Thekkady by evening. Enjoy the overnight stay at your resort.

After breakfast, we enter the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. This is one of the best sanctuaries in India for watching and photographing elephants at close quarters, by a boat ride through Periyar lake. The day is free for you to enjoy the sanctuary and surrounding area to your heart’s content. Otherwise you can have the trekking and Plantation Tour. Trek through one of the various trails near the sanctuary. Later, we make a short trip to a cardamom plantation. Thekkady is one of the major spice centres of Kerala. Enjoy overnight stay at your resort.

Visit Kumarakom Bird sanctuary. After breakfast, we drive to Kumarakom – the exotic backwater destination. Arrive by noon and occupy your resort. Enjoy a delightful lunch. Later we take you to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary by boat. Spot exotic varieties of birds, including the Siberian Stork. Simultaneously enjoy the great backwater vistas. *A Kalaripayattu performance during night is optional. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

After breakfast, leave Kumarakom behind to proceed to Marari – the inviting local-flavored village beach resort near Alappuzha by a Luxury boat cruise. Arrive at Marari before noon. Check into the Marari Beach Resort. The rest of the day is for you to take in the extraordinary tranquility of this beach. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your resort.

After breakfast, say a reluctant goodbye to Marari beach and we drive to Cochin for your onward journey.
